The Bill (Reg. No. 4214) limits the maximum rate of penalty envisaged by the Criminal Code to amount of one thousand of non-taxable citizen´s income, and determines the rate of a penalty as a criminal punishment in the amount of UAH 600. The Bill also improves the procedure of inflicting a penalty in the form of correctional works due to the actual increase of penalty rates. According to the Bill, the highest rate of penalty envisaged in the Criminal Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements shall amount UAH 17 000.
The Committee believes that adoption of the Bill will delineate administrative and criminal responsibility measures, as well as enhance fighting crime by means of a renewed system of criminal and legislative sanctions.
